K2 (2013) Year End Results

22 November 2013 (Fri):

Rachel had her PTC this morning & it was short one as all her teachers were in full praise of her. Her academic progress & conduct were excellent.

Though her overall results for her English dropped a tiny bit but it was all careless mistakes on her part. I saw the exam paper. Teacher Karren went on to explain Rachel understands the concept, only maybe she might have seen & written wrongly.

Her Mandarin teacher, Liu Lao Shi (I shd say Zhang Lao Shi - she was the one I spoke to) told me Rachel's vocab has improved tremendously & hopes she continues to read more books.

Posted to 3 Integrity. Heard from another Mummy during Rachel's P1 orientation that the class of Integrity for P3 onwards is the best of all & also the most stressful & heavy loaded class, in terms of homework, projects, assessments, etc... and it seems quite a few of Lionel's K1 & K2 classmates were all posted to 3 Integrity as well.

Hmmm, Little Footprints produces excellent students... haha

Primary 1 Orientation

15 November 2013 (Fri):

The soon to be P1s were having their orientation at YPS this afternoon. After registration, the children were brought to sit according to their classes. Rachel's ballet classmate was also registered in the same school but she's in 1 Perseverance; Rachel's in 1 Integrity.

Rachel feeling comfortable. She even turned around & talked to her new classmate :)
Teacher in charge were Ms Tan (form teacher) & Ms Siti (co-form teacher), I think :P

Saw another little one crying for her mum when the teacher tried to get her to sit with her classmates. Oh dear. Hope she feels better when school reopens.

I got a sneek peep at her classroom. Rachel told me this is where she would be sitting next year. Airy & spacious classroom. The children were brought around the school while the parents were in the hall listening to a speech, watching a video presentation & filling up forms.

And yes, Lionel bought me around the school too. The library, computer room, science labs, eco garden...

The PERI upgrading works, completion is almost 90% & should be ready to use by Feb 2014. It will house all the various studios such as the dance, music & even band. There is also an indoor sports hall on the 6th floor & the ceiling as high as 2 stories.

What else the school lacks? Swimming pool. I'm trying to visualise one on the rooftop. Haha.

Prize Giving Day 2013 @ YPS

15 November 2013 (Fri):

Today was really a hectic day. Lionel had his prize giving ceremony this morning, followed by Rachel's CSTD ballet exam & then her P1 orientation in the afternoon.

We sent Lionel to school, had breakfast & Daddy went back to school as all parents need to be seated by 8.30am. I proceeded to tie Rachel's hair into a bun with gell & hairspray. I got my mil to send Rachel over to her ballet school at 10am as I wanted to rush over to Lionel's school. Rachel's exam begins at 11.30am but they need to be in school by 10am to get ready.

The principal, Mrs Chan was giving a speech as I arrived & luckily the event had just begun. There was a few performances put up by the students & the prize giving ceremony started.

Mrs Chan would be retiring this year end & a new principal would be taking over. She is currently the vice principal of Princess Elizabeth Primary School.
