Happy 7th Birthday, Baby

17 July 2014 (Thurs):

Princess here turns 7 today. When our kids were young, the adults would always try to plan & throw a big birthday bash for the child, wouldn't they? But as the child grows older, we tend to have a simple, quiet party within our own family members. So Daddy got a cake Polar at the request of princess who wanted a strawberry shortcake. (I was half expecting Daddy to get an ice cream cake from Swensons instead.)

We sang the birthday song & princess made a wish.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABY. Daddy, Mummy & Kor Kor will always love & protect you. Stay sweet, happy & healthy always.

The cake seemed to be sinking in at the side but all that matters to princess was the strawberries on the top..haha

See the look on her face; I'm wondering what's she wishing for..

Studying a 3rd language

16 July 2014 (Wed):

YPS has encouraged all P3 students to acquire a 3rd language, therefore coming up with this conversational program to equip the students with basic oral skills.

There are both the Malay & Mandarin classes to choose from so obviously the Chinese students will learn Malay & vice versa. The Tamil students can have a choice of Mandarin or Malay. :)

This is Lionel's Conversational Malay Course book for beginners & the 1st class started yesterday.

I only know: Selamat Datang = Welcome, Kawan = Friend, Terima Kasih = Thank You...lol

Pioneer Seafood

29 June 2014 (Sun):

Food, food and nothing but food. Solely food.

We had dinner at Pioneer Seafood Restaurant along Tuas. I read in some reviews about this place. Ulu location but great food & service.

Newspaper cuttings to promote their restaurant.

They even have KTV rooms available & we actually asked for one. But was rejected: (1) u hv to spent min SGD$500. (2) need to make advance reservations for it.

But when we were there, there was only 1 other table occupied beside ours. And the KTV rooms were unoccupied. And by looking at what we have ordered, it was almost close to $500.

And how to make advance reservations when we only decided at the last min to have dinner here...

However, their answer was still a NO. :(

Hubs had no problem locating this place. He was the one who suggested having dinner here since he passes by this restaurant whenever he has projects along this stretch of road. And I'm surprised the whole family had no objections as well. I was afraid they might find the place too far.

Brinjal with salted fish

Chilli crab.

Herbal duck.

Fried scallop with mango bits.

Oatmeal prawns.

Assam fish.

Salted egg crab.

Sea cucumber.

Sweet n sour pork ribs.

We managed to finish everything between 8A & 4C.

And the bills comes to SGD$442.42 after service charge.

Road Trip Up North - Day 3

24 June 2014 (Tues):

Hubs seemed to know this area well. We drove by some kopitiam or cafes last night & he remembered the direction from our hotel on foot!

Tim Sum for brekkie.

Our evergreen water theme park in Malaysia - Sunway Lagoon. This time round, I was more adventurous to go onto the Vuvuzela Slide - the kids called it 大喇叭.

We went round to the wildlife closure & saw many animals in their enclosure.

Caught a "Pirates vs Mermaids" show

Took a walk along the suspension bridge, sat in the ferris wheel & played go kart.

Basically, this marked the end of our short holiday.

Side humor: We queued up for the Scream Park Horror expenditure with me coaxing R that its all fake; only people wearing costumes & masks to look scary. There were many people queuing for it & I thought it would be fun to explore the inside together. While we were waiting outside & a staff was telling us about what we would be expecting, this other staff came jumping out, wearing only a mask & "boooo-ed" at everyone else. People were screaming & running in all directions. Haiz.. there goes the end of our encounter - both L & R insisted to get out. L almost in tears & R was, well, crying lah.

Looking back, I felt like laughing instead. :P
