TSOD Junior Dance Group

20 March 2016 (Sunday):

Rachel was selected to join the TSOD Junior Dance Group. She was elated since she did not got it at the last audition 2 years back.

The Yishun branch decided to have a dance group of its own. This selected group of students would represent the school to take part in competitions and events and performances. However, this means additional classes and practices. I have pre warned Rachel before hand on the additional classes she would be having and this means longer hours of practice. She was all for it. :)

And only after the 1st lesson, she was told by the teacher, Ms Jasmine Koh that they will all be entered into a competition, hence the lessons would be stretch from the usual 1 hours to 1.5hrs at least.

From the initial 3.15 - 4.15, classes are now from 3.15pm to 4.45pm but with most lessons, the timing would be stretch to 5.15hrs but there was once, almost to 5.30hrs.

Well, so long, Rachel enjoys her classes, Mummy here would definitely give full support.

RAD Ballet Exam Open House

17 Mar 2016 (Thurs):

The Grade 2 students were having their ballet open house this evening. This was a pre preparation for the mummies n daddies to have an idea what kind of syllabus the kids would be tested on and what have the kids been practicing and learning during those extra classes every week.

I leave you with 2 character dance video clips I took.

Ballet Perfomance at Mrs Lee Choon Guan Theatre, ACJC

13 Dec 2015 (Sun):

TSOD ballet performance was held over 2 days; Fri and Sun.

Prior to Fri, I asked my colleague to accompany me to Buona Vista MRT to familiarize myself with the surroundings as ACJC was round the corner. Both of us literally walked one round around ACJC, wondering which was the nearest entrance and we both felt so stupid when we realised the main entrance was facing the station.

I really appreciated her for coming with me.

As I would be attending the concert on Fri and Sunday, I wouldn't want to be late as I was coming directly from work on Friday. Imagine wondering which direction to take and getting lost and running late cos not sure where to go... I better do a little racky.

Rachel was performing for this concert and I had promised her I would watched for the 2 days. As usual, the concert tickets were not cheap.

Without further ado, I leave you with 2 videos; one of Rachel's performance and one of her teacher, Ms Wu's performance. There are many other videos which I took but uploading them would require a considerable amount of time, hence just these 2videos would be sufficient, I think. :)

Rachel got back her exam results for her Grade 1 RAD Ballet today. She achieved 7 credits and was awarded a "MERIT".

Though not totally satisfied with her results, she was nonetheless happy and aims to get a distinction in her next exam.

Well, Princess would have to work hard for it. Next exam would be in Grade 2.

TSOD Peter Pan - "Live Your Dream " Concert 2013 (2)

08 Dec 2013 (Sun):

Round 2 of the ballet concert performance @ SCGS.

I asked Rachel if she enjoyed herself & her answer was yes. The bigger sisters took care of them all very well; played with them, assisted them, helped out, attended to their every needs. I was surprised to found out that Ms Wu would be performing as well. This was a rare opportunity to see the teachers performing. I caught the dance on video.

However, due to Daddy's work schedule, he was not able to rushed back on time, hence we missed the 1st 3 dance items - we arrived while the 4th item was ongoing. I was so afraid I would missed Rachel's " Dancing Notes " but luckily, hers was not till after the intermission.

I took a few photos of some of the dance items & I personally loved most of the costumes & some of the dance.

Hatties Brollies - Grade 6.

Falling Leaves - Advance.

Native Tribe - Dance Group (Junior).

Mystique - Dance Group ( Junior 2 )

Sad Tinkerbell - Dance Group ( Junior 2 )

Presents - Grade 5

Splashing Good Times - Grade 2

Captain Hook & Tinkerbell.

Wendy, John & Michael, together with The Lost Boys.

Peter Pan himself.

Dancing Notes - Rachel's on your right at the beginning, then towards the centre at the ending. Spot her.

The Prayer - I mentioned that it was a rare opportunity to watch the teachers dancing, right? Though not all of them are teachers but Ms Wu is in this video. Spot her? :P

CSTD Ballet Exam Open House 2013 - Primary Syllabus

03 October 2013 (Thurs):

Rachel & her peeps had their ballet open house this evening of which they will be showcasing the exam syllabus for Nov. Note the parents paparazzi...lol

I will post some videos soon as I am having a little uploading problem right now.

At one part of the training, Ms Wu got Rachel to step forward, sit down & faced the class. For a moment, I thought what mistake did Rachel made & that her teacher needed to correct. It turned out that Ms Wu was praising Rachel for showing her sweet smile & tummy tucked in, even while sitting down.

Ms Wu told me that Rachel had improved alot & she hopes that Rachel continues to show her passion for ballet.

Oh, here is a cute one. Another classmate, PX lost her upper front teeth & so she dared not smiled with her teeth shown. Ms Wu told her it is okay to smile & that it is a must during the exam for marks were allocated.

Rachel and some of her ballet classmates. Ms Wu, the ballet teacher cldnt resist taking a photo or two...haha.

I love these poses, especially the middle pose. Rachel looked so poise.

Right split, left split & front split. Ms Wu was commenting how it is that some of her girls were able to do the right split nicely but not the left split... lol

Notices

28 September 2013 (Sat):

Hey folks, we are still around. Its just that there isnt any event nor outings to pen down. Yeah, I know this blog has been "ignored" for a month but well, things have been going real slow. So without further ado, i present to u our notices - the only thing that is coming in on us....fast...haha

First thing first, there seems to be quite a number of stuff going on in YPS for year end. We have the PSLE listening compre & exams that took place & ongoing... then there is the lower primary sports day held 1 day before Children's Day on the 03 Oct. Children's Day is a school holiday so no lessons on that day. (Long weekend for the kids)

Then there is the PSLE marking for a whole week - 14 ~ 18 Oct. All pupils need not attend school. Hari Raya, another public holiday which falls on the 15 Oct. No sch again. The SA2 papers for the P3s - P5s begins on 10 Oct & continues on 22 Oct again... weird planning. Hey, what about the P1s & P2s??? No mention.

Another PH, Deepavali which falls on 02 Nov & lastly, the prize presentation day & P1 orientation day on the 15 Nov.

The K2 also have their program listed. The graduation ceremony cum concert falls on the 30 Nov @ Republic Poly. This year, the concert's theme is "Circus"

$25 per ticket & I got 3 for us... My K2 little princess will be graduating this year. Woohoo!
Side note: the K2s are having their year end paper on the 23 - 25 Oct.

TSOD, Yishun will be having its CSTD ballet exam open house for the primary level on the 10 Oct. It will be showcasing the exam syllabus & discussions on the exam preparations. ( Date has been brought forward to 03 Oct instead. Exams will be held sometime in Nov. Gosh! I hope it does not clash with the P1 orientation date.

Lastly, TSOD will be having its concert, Peter Pan - Live Your Dreams at SCGS, Khoo Auditorium on 07 & 08 December.

So many stuff cramped into my already "fried" brain. I need air!
