Scoot Away
04 Aug 2014 (Mon):
Taiwan has always been on my wish list. I have only been to Taiwan once & that was on a tour leading assignment back in the late 90s. And recently when my in laws went to Taiwan for their yearly vacation, I was so tempted to follow but Daddy found the airfare expensive. :(
Then my sil & her family, my cousins, niece & nephews all went to Taiwan one after another & I so wanna go...
And I saw so many post on FB from my friends who went to Taiwan & back...
Not sure what made Daddy pop the question back in June & asked if I'm interested to go Taiwan. Would I say NO? Course not! So we have been checking on the various budget carriers website for promotions to Taiwan but the total for 2A & 2C would always be at least $1700.Cheapo Daddy would definitely NOT agree on this kind of price.
I would always argue with Daddy on the fact that we are going during CNY & how would he expect the fare to be cheap?!!!!
Fast forward - 01 August 2014. Scoot was having a promo & their tag line: " Enjoy special fares on the return flight when you scoot to these amazing destinations. Taxes & surcharges apply. "
I clicked on the given link & indicated my preferred departure dates. However, the selected return date was not having promo as promised. Haiz... And then I saw - return (TPE/SIN) dates on 26 Feb onwards were only SGD$33 (FLY only category), excluding taxes. This means you do not get the additional baggage allowance of 20kg unless you book the FLY/BAG category, for a different price of course. :)
I played around, clicking on the various departure & returning dates & our conclusion:
SIN / TPE: 21 Feb 2015 $178 per person TPE/ SIN: 26 Feb 2015 $33 per person
Total including taxes: $1350 for 2 adults & 2 children, including 20kg baggage allowance to & fro for the 2 adults only. ( we added those in on the passengers details' page).
So its onwards to Taiwan, though only for 6 days & 5 nights next CNY, 2015.
Confirmed & Double Chopped!!!!
All Thanks to Scoot. :)

Happy 7th Birthday, Baby
17 July 2014 (Thurs):
Princess here turns 7 today. When our kids were young, the adults would always try to plan & throw a big birthday bash for the child, wouldn't they? But as the child grows older, we tend to have a simple, quiet party within our own family members. So Daddy got a cake Polar at the request of princess who wanted a strawberry shortcake. (I was half expecting Daddy to get an ice cream cake from Swensons instead.)
We sang the birthday song & princess made a wish.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABY. Daddy, Mummy & Kor Kor will always love & protect you. Stay sweet, happy & healthy always.

The cake seemed to be sinking in at the side but all that matters to princess was the strawberries on the top..haha
See the look on her face; I'm wondering what's she wishing for..

Studying a 3rd language
16 July 2014 (Wed):
YPS has encouraged all P3 students to acquire a 3rd language, therefore coming up with this conversational program to equip the students with basic oral skills.
There are both the Malay & Mandarin classes to choose from so obviously the Chinese students will learn Malay & vice versa. The Tamil students can have a choice of Mandarin or Malay. :)
